Why Telegram and not WhatsApp?
The decision to use Telegram rather than WhatsApp is due to the significantly different capabilities of their APIs. Whereas WhatsApp’s API does not allow groups to be created or managed, or their content to be accessed, Telegram offers a robust official API that makes it easy to create and manage groups with full control over their privacy and content. This function is essential to be able to certify interactions within a chat group, something that is not possible with WhatsApp.
We have also ruled out using third-party APIs that are available on the market to access WhatsApp because not only are they not official, they do not allow us to ensure the necessary technical level or the security and privacy of the data. These third-party solutions can compromise the integrity and confidentiality of chats, which runs counter to the core principles of GoCertius, which seek to ensure reliable and secure certification.
In contrast, Telegram does offer an official API that meets high-level security and privacy standards, enabling us to manage and certify chat groups in a technically robust way. This not only strengthens chat content certification guarantees, but also ensures that the data handled are protected according to the highest industry standards.
It should be noted in any case that the services offered by EAD Trust, include options to certify chats between companies and their customers using the WhatsApp for Business APIs. It is important to clarify that with these APIs, Meta only permits access to two-way chats (i.e., one-on-one chats) and not group chats. If you need more information, please get in touch.
