What type of information is certified?

All sent messages together with any attached content (photos, videos, files, audio clips, etc.), reactions (such as emojis) or shared geolocation data are certified. The record includes both original content and any changes or deletions, the group name and any changes to it, and the list of participants, including the history of who has joined or left the group.

The process is slightly different when it comes to polls or voting since, for technical reasons, in order to retrieve votes, the poll or vote must have been launched by our Certy bot. In that case, the process is as follows:

  • Any participant in the group can create a vote or poll with whatever characteristics they want*.
  • Once the poll has been published in the group, Certy records it and immediately deletes it, which is also recorded.
  • Certy then recreates the same vote or poll and publishes it in the group.
  • Once published, the group’s participants can vote or respond.
  • Certy records all votes and responses.

It should be noted that even if the vote or poll has been defined as anonymous for participants in the group, Certy will still identify anyone who votes or responds and record this data.

* There are certain types of votes or polls that cannot be correctly certified for technical reasons, so to avoid any inconsistency, their creation is not permitted.
